Default Tab Delimited

I'm trying to add products using the Import Data tools but at the bottom of the page I get the following message:

Your spreadsheet (data file) needs to be saved in the “Tab Delimited” format prior to importing your data.

Can someone explain what I'm supposed to do (in Idiots language) because I don't have a clue what to do.

Default Tab Delimited

kztm,

Try this:

Go to the FILE menu, choose SAVE AS. At the bottom of the dialog box that pops up there is a white box that says: Microsoft Excel Workbook (*.xls). The box is labeled Save as type: Click on the down arrowhead at the right side of the white box, then scroll down and choose the type called Text (Tab delimited) (*.txt)

Give the file a name, and save it. You should be able to close it, re-open it and save it again as a workbook with the .xls file extension. It may tell you some formating may be lost. I save things as Junk1.txt or Junk2.xls until I get it right, just in case.

If that's not it, Excel may be asking that you save your SOURCE data as text, .txt files. Try saving a COPY of your source as a text file. Use Word or Notepad if the Source application won't let you Save As *.txt

Good Luck.
