Default Tab leader

Sorry not being specific enough.
It was definetly a question: how do I switch on tab headers on TOC1 and
TOC2.
I activated the tab leader option when formatting the style but this action
produces tab leaders for tabs that precede the section heading in the TOC.

Hi John

have in TOC3.

It's not entirely clear whether the above statement is a question or
not, but if it is: You can certainly base your TOC 1 and 2 styles on TOC
3, but this seems a bit strange. And anyway, if the TOC settings are
different to begin with, it wouldn't help much.

That said, why don't you just set the tabs and indents of these two
styles to the desired values? Did you try and fail? Description?

Hmm, I would manually format the style: In the Styles&Formatting
taskpane (or, if you have Word 97/2000, Format | Style), chose TOC 1.
Modify. Format. Tabs. Now, in there, remove all unwanted Tabstop
positions, and insert those that you need: If you have numbered
headings, you usually need one normal (=left-aligned) tab for the
variable space between the heading number and the heading text, and one
right-aligned tab (usually with a tab leader) for the page number.
