Default ERROR Message during Setup of Microsoft Office 2007

I need help, and I've emailed Microsoft several times and now they tell me
its a technical problem they cannont help me.

Anyways this is my thing. I got a used computer that has Windows XP which is
why I got it I have to have XP for college. I have a c.d that I'm trying to
install Microsoft Office 2007 on it, its a free trial for class. Once I enter
my key code and referral key it starts to install and before it even gets a
progress bar it says "Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Subscription
encountered an error during setup." That's it.. Thats all the info I get.

One guy named Tim from Microsoft told me that apparently this computer had
previous Office Trials installed and used and to delete those files. Okay
right, no big deal. So I did a computer search for the file and/or folder,
and even looked in the control panel. There's no file or folder called
Microsoft Office, or Office, nothing. Its all been deleted already by
previous owner before he sold it to me. He deleted almost everything, I had
to do several updates for my XP.

PLEASE help me. I cannot afford to buy the whole software which at my local
walmart is $150 bucks. I have to have this program for my classes. Microsoft
guy told me to download a free trial from their website so I'd have a new key
code to try, and that did the exact same error. Please help me. I have
Windows XP and trying to Install Microsoft Office 2007. Thanks

Did you look in Add\Remove. Remove everything referenced to Office from your
computer (even what you tried to install today) and then try the install again. Read
below

And see this and implement
