Default Uninstall error on Office 2007

Am trying to uninstall a pre-loaded trial version of Office 2007 that came
eith my HP laptop. I am receiving a message
"This product installation has been corrupted. Run set-up again from the CD
DVD or other original installation source"
But cannot do that as it was pre-installed.

That's a pretty relevant link - be warned that the Registry cleanup is VERY
tedious - I ended up with about 70 .reg files on my desktop.

Also, Step 3, substep 3 - you navigate to the Program Files/Microsoft Office
folder, but then there is no action step. In my case this is a BIG problem -
the reason I'm uninstalling is that Office 12 is, for some reason, installed
in ProgramFiles/Microsoft Outlook/ - so it's in the wrong place.
