Default Office 2007 Installation Issue.

I am having an issue getting Office 2007 installed to one particular machine
using a Select copy of the media which has been used many times before. When
installing the software the message 'The language of this installation
package is not supported by your system.' is shown.

This same error occurred previously on the machine in question when it had
Office 2003 installed and an attempt to install Office 2007 was made. Since
then, due to another issue with the machine, it has been rebuilt, using a
Select version of Windows XP SP2 (subsequently upgraded to SP3 and then all
available hotfixes installed), which has been used many times previously. In
fact, the combination of the Windows XP and Office 2007 media have been used
together successfully in the past and this is the only time an issue has been
identified.

I have tried changing the locale setup for the machine but still the problem
occurs and the details in the log file remain the same apart from the
reference to the system locale changes to reflect that the machine is set to
use at the time the installation of Office 2007 is attempted.

The log file for the installation is as follows:

Default Office 2007 Installation Issue.

Which language version of Office are you installing? And what is the
language of your Windows installation?

You may have already tried this, but under the regional settings control
panel, you'll find two checkboxes labeled something like 'install support for
East Asian" and "install support for complex scripts". Try checking both of
those boxes - you'll need your Windows CD.

Default Office 2007 Installation Issue.

The installation source for both Windows and Office 2007 is English - which
is the really strange thing!!! I have tried enabling those settings in the
past but this did not resolve the issue.

Other similar issues have suggested re-installing Windows, which has been
done from a reliable source that has been used many times previously and
worked along with the Office 2007 installation.

I am running out of options to try and I really do not understand why the
problem only occurs on this one machine and has never occurred on any other
machines I have rebuilt using the same source media.
