Default Aligning numbers in a table

I'm creating a financial statement using a table in Word.
Is there any way to align the numbers in a column by the
decimal point?

David, select a table column and set a decimal tab. To do this, click the
button at the left end of the ruler until the decimal tab comes up (it's the
one that looks like an updide down "T" with a dot next to it), then click
the ruler where you want to set your tab.
