Old chart, series in wrong order
I have 14 charts spread across three (printing) pages. They all share the
same format; Green line (no symbols) = Target Blue columns = Monthly Actual Red line with marker = YTD, plotted on secondary X-Axis When I create graphs from scratch and have three data series on the same graph, same axis, and same chart type, then when I click on [Format data series/Series Order] I can change the order of the series and how they are "layered" in the graph. In these 14 graphs, the green line is "on top", sometimes obscuring the data behind it- and for some reason (possibly related to the axis it is plotted on, or maybe chart type?) I can't change the order of the series (each one only shows itself in the series order box), so I can't send the green line to the back Is there a workaround for this? Thanks in advance, Keith |

Old chart, series in wrong order
Keith -
Excel seems to have different layers within the chart. Gridlines are always underneath any series. Area series are next, then bar and column (I think in that order), then line, and finally scatter. Within each layer, the primary series are drawn below the secondary ones. Drawn shapes float above it all. You can only rearrange the order of series in each layer, within each axis group (primary or secondary). - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services http://PeltierTech.com/Excel/Charts/ _______ Keith R wrote: I have 14 charts spread across three (printing) pages.
