How Do I sever this link?

When you create a word document and save it as an html file, word
automatically creates a sub-folder for the images related to that document.
The sub-folder has the same name as the document with "_files" concatentated
to it. So that if you save a file "fubar.htm" in My Documents, that has
images, you will also find a folder fubar_files in My Documents.

That of and by itself is not a bad thing, but I then decided to use
dreamweaver to manage my html files, because word puts a lot of garbage in
the files to support their editor, stuff that I did not want in the final
copies on the web, or in a jar file as is this case. What I did not know is
that Windows somehow creates a link between the htm file and its sub folder
that I don't seem to be able to break.

I attempted to copy only the subfolders for a bunch of documents to a
network share because a colleague was going to attempt to convert the images
to a different format, but the system copied the htm files as well! When I
deleted the htm file, the system decided to delete the related sub folder!
This is decidedly not what I want to happen, only I can't figure out how to
make it stop doing that.

Can someone please help me here?

Hi Admin

I believe you need to change the following setting in Explorer (not Word). So from
Explorers menu: ToolsFolder Options...ViewManaging pairs of Web pages and foldersShow
both parts and manage them individually. This last option is a radio button so make sure
you select it and then click on OK.
