two pages per sheet
i'm running win 2k
word 2k i have a document that has 23 pages, and it's all in landscape. i want to print two pages per sheet (hp laserjet 4200n). when i choose the "pages per sheet" option in print setup and set it to "2", the pages are reduced to about 1/4 of their size, and printed side by side on a landscape page, leaving 3/4 of the page blank. obviously two landscape pages will fit perfectly on a portrait page, one of top of the other! i can't change the orientation of the document to portrait because there are tables & so forth that need to be displayed in landscape! how can i print two reduced landscape pages on a portrait page? if anyone knows .. i'll worship them. |

If you want the document to print this way consistently (that is, printing 2
pages per sheet is not just a variation), you can set the document up this way to begin with, using the "2 pages per sheet" option in the Page Setup dialog (Margins tab). Since this actually creates the pages at half size, considerable work would be required at this point to reduce the size of your tables and text, but you might consider this for your next such project. You might also see whether your printer driver (Properties) offers a "pages per sheet" option that might have more flexibility than Word's. -- Suzanne S. thanks suzanne. the printer does have such an option, but i still can't
get the result i want. it's curious how word can reduce the pages to fit the wrong way (1/4 size landscape pages side by side on a portion of a landscape page) .. but not the right way! (1/2 size landscape pages on a portrait page) i'm sure i'm missing something here. Suzanne S.
