Default basic problem

in cell a1 I input an amount. In cell a2 I input formula
=(a1)......it works but cell (a2) does not change when I
change cell (a1)...why?

Hi Jay,

If you have a very large spreadsheet with lots of calculations then it can
be handy to turn off the automatic calculations that occur everytime you
change a cell value. This can save time and stops any pauses if your
computer is not upto speed (as the x thousand formulas are updated!). To
turn this back on go to Tools, then Options and select the Calculation tab
you should see a number of options. You prob have Manual selected. If you
change this to Automatic then all of your formulas will update
automatically. This should solve your problem.
