Negative number formating
I am using Office XP (Excel)and I cannot find
the "brackets" formatting for a negative number. Can someone help me on how I can do this in XP Excel. I could easily do it in Office 98 Excel, under the Format Cell / number function. It seemed to have disappeared in this new version. |

Negative number formating
You can still use Format/Cell/Number but choose Custom and enter
0_);(0);0_);@ the _ character reserves enough space for the character that follows it, so that positive and negative numbers line up. XL cell formats have four fields. By default, they are for positive numbers, negative numbers, zero, and text, respectively, though that can be modified.
