Default Need help installing Office XP

I have Office XP on my old computer and would like to install it on my new
computer. I have all of the discs from my first computer but for the life of
me can't seem to figure out how to install Office XP on my new laptop. Can
someone please walk me through it. I feel like a dunce. Thanks.

If Office XP came with the old computer it is probably an OEM version
(especially if you can't identify the specific Office XP disk.) If the
specific Office disk can be identified if it says for purchase with a new
computer it is also OEM. If it is an OEM version then it can not be
transferred "legally" to any other computer and dies with the first computer
it is installed onto.

If you purchased it separately (retail) from the computer (and it really
doesn't sound that way) then you need to identify the Office disk and insert
it into the CD drive in your new computer. If it doesn't automatically
start to load you need to go to Windows Explorer (or My Computer or Computer
if Vista) and select the Setup.exe file on the root of the disk.

If you can identify as retail you must uninstall any trial Office software
and any activation assistant then reboot the computer prior to installing
your version of Office. Office XP does have issues in Vista OS with Outlook
not remembering passwords. There may also be other issues not yet
identified as XP is not supported on Vista operating system.
