Form record navigation
I have a VERY simple database started. 3 tables with so far three forms.
When I created the initial form it came up and showed all of the records of the table. Now for some reason it only shows 1 of 1 even though there are multiple entries into the field. I am at a loss. It seems the more i try and work in the database the more it needs. Also is there a simple way to set up an Auto-Number without using the failed (AutoNumber)? I need to start a log number that startes 2009-0001 and goes up in incraments, but in developing the database and testing different things it now starts at 2009-0025 yet there are no records in the table for prior numbers. |

Microsoft Access Autonumbers are intended for use as unique row identifiers. They are not customizable as you described, and they are generally unfit for human consumption. And were you aware that Autonumbers are not guaranteed to be/stay sequential? And stuffing more than one fact (YYYY, Sequence Number) into a single field is not good data design. Instead, use a query to concatenate those two together, each from its own field. Good Luck! Regards Jeff Boyce Microsoft Office/Access MVP "Gary" wrote in message ...
