Default Windows XP Professional and Office 2007

Hi NG,

as i am trying to set up a new Notebook for an Office 2007 environment
with Access 2007,
i am asking myself, whether it's better to use XP Professional or
better Vista
to set up the system.

My intuition says XP but eventually Vista has improved these days and
is the better
base to work with Office 2007.

Thanks for your opinion.

Best regards

Reiner

Is there a new Access project you plan to do with Access 2007 or has
there already been some development using a previous version of Access
and a previous operating system?

Hi Adrian,

i am coming from an A97-Environment and want to set up a Test-System
on a notebook
to get into A2007 and to try to convert my A97-Applications to A2007.

The applications run actually on a citrix-server with window 2000 with
A97 and Office 2000 on it.
The plan is to run them in the future on citrix with windows 2003 and
Office 2007 incl. Access 2007.

regards

OK, being a Citrix hosted application means it's not actually using
Office software components on your laptop - so it's not that fussy that
your laptop runs Windows XP or Vista, just ensure you have a compative
citrix client.

However, as you want to hoist the hosted A97 files up to your laptop and
convert (and prototype) the replacement A2007 system, I think Windows XP
Pro would be closer to 2003 that the server uses - particulary if your
application code has any API dependancies like network services use?
