When I type a list of items:

1. afjkdjakl
2. ajdkjfd
3. ajdkj;

After I type 1. it starts numbering auotmatically.

Click "Format Text" and toggle Off "Numbering" in the Paragraph panel.

If I read your response correctly you want me to:

In Outlook 2007
Create New
Format Text
Open Paragraph Dialog box
and toggle off "numbering"

SORRY, I DON'T SEE "Numbering"

In a new message, on the Format Text tab there is a panel labeled
Paragraph and on that panel is an icon with 123 vertical in it, (if you
hover the mouse on it, it will say numbering) click it so it turns off.

Hi Lisa,

On the Ribbon in the Outlook 2007 message editor, on either the
'Message' Ribbon tab under 'Basic Text' or on the 'Format Text' Ribbon tab
check to see if the 'Numering' icon is 'lit' if so, click on it to turn off numbering

None of the suggestions here seemed to work for me.

Easiest way I've found to do this in Outlook 2007 is to start a
numbered list (by typing 1 blah return)

Hover over the number and click the 'lightning' icon that appears - you
should then see an option to turn off auto numbering. Works a treat.

How you turn it back on again though I haven't a clue.

Hope this helps anyone else looking for an answer to this.
