Tab Question
I am using Access 2000. I have a form with 5 tabs. The first tab is data
taken at intake interview for a patient. The second through the fifth is for subsequent patient visits. The requirement is to be able to change certain fields without altering the inital intake information in the first tab; for eg. the address fields if at the second visit, the patient's address has changed, I should be able to enter the new address without changing the address at intake. However, going forward the data from the most recent tab should be picked up for the following tabs. Is this doable in Access - can somebody please help? Thanks |

Tab Question
It isn't the form, that stores the data, it is the underlying table(s). If
you have many side table(s) that allow the storage of multiple values for each of the patients, it should be rather easy to accomplish your goal. Add a timestamp (date/time field) to each record so that you can order them appropriately. Each of your tabs that show new data should only allow adding data, not editing it. A bit of code in the form can write that data to a new record, instead editing the existing one. The properties of the form and controls that you need to familiarize yourself with a OldValue, Dirty, and you will use the AfterUpdate event to cause the copy of the record to a new one. -- Arvin Meyer, MCP, MVP http://www.datastrat.com http://www.mvps.org/access http://www.accessmvp.com "SJ" wrote in message ...
