This will limit data entry to alphanumeric characters:
=SUMPRODUCT((MID(A1,ROW(INDIRECT("$1:$"&LEN(A1))), 1)="A")*(MID(A1,ROW(INDIRECT("$1:$"&LEN(A1))),1) ="Z")+ISNUMBER(-MID(A1,ROW(INDIRECT("$1:$"&LEN(A1))),1)))=LEN(A1) Are there any other characters which you may wish to enter?
