MAPI error

I had been getting the same error repeatedly in Outlook (about 50 times/
day)
"Managed MAPI error."
This was not dating back
to the installation of Office 2003, but some short time after. Also, I
started noticing that the "Send/Receive" button wasn't
doing anything when I clicked on it. Outlook would Send/Receive on the
regular schedule that I had created in the settings,
however.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the outlook but the MAPI error is still coming
up:
"Managed MAPI Service Catastrophic Failure... Unknown error"

help~

Any other email clients installed? Any Add-ins for Outlook installed
(including anti-virus add-ins)?
