Default Find Fast

Hello Experts,
I have Office 97 Pro on Win98SE.

Is there any real use of "Find Fast" or Is it only for slowing down a PC
when some important work is undergoing?
Is it safe to remove it from StartProgramsStartUp?

Thank you,

Default Find Fast

As you have surmised, most users think that "Find Fast" ...Is ...only for
slowing down a PC
when some important work is undergoing?

Removing it from start up will not kill Fast Find.

Go to Start / Control Panel / I'm working from dim memories of the past
here, but if I remember correctly, Fast Find should be in Control Panel, and
you Right-click and choose "Disable". If that doesn't work, use Add Remove
Programs wizard to remove Office components. Again, from memory, I think
Fast Find was in Office Tools.

Good luck,
steve
