Prevent Messenger from running
You also tried this:
http://sniptools.com/vault/uninstall...-messenger.htm There's no need to 'mess around' in the registry yourself. I also recently re-installed the OS from scratch (comparable situation as yours). I also got this annoying and stupid MSN program, but by using the tip given on the site above, I could kick out (with pleasure) this completely redundant, processor eating, useless, time consuming piece of amusement software... I'm happy now and not disturbed anymore by those lunatics who are annoying other people with this silly kind of programs... --Geert "Kenneth J. Harris" wrote in message ... Hi! I tried the registry fixes suggested in an earlier post, and also unchecking the options to automatically log on to messenger and show the contacts pane. Unless I did something wrong, why does the messenger icon still appear in the system tray and why does ctrl-alt-delete show msmsgs as a running process? I have a new computer with the latest version of IE and Outlook Express 6. Ken |
