Default where to reset microsoft query allow edit command DDE

Today I was experiencing Excel software issues. Sent error report and
download was recommended and performed. After software download, I can no
longer edit queries from my computer. Cannot even view criteria pane, nor
edit criteria. Where can I reset the DDE allow edit and viewpane setting to
3. I see reference to system channel and dde channel, but need to provide
more information to IT dept.
