Default "Display as" default on new Contacts

Is there any setting (registry or otherwise) to change the default behaviour
of the "Display as" email field when creating a new Contact? I have searched
the newsgroups and used Google to no avail.

Instead of "User Name )" I want it to default to "User Name
(work)" as most of my Contacts are work-related. For the few personal ones I
don't mind changing the text in brackets.

Why? I don't like seeing sometimes very long addresses (especially annoying
when you are sending to lots of people at once, or recieve a mail with lots
of "To:" entries). Removing the part in brackets altogether means you can't
differentiate between similar named email addresses. TIA.

No, you'll need to edit yourself or write a VBA procedure to change it.
BTW - this behavior exists because of all the complaints Microsoft had with
older versions that used name (email 1), name (email2)...
