Not one of the wisest decisions, was it? Makes me glad I went broadband
before getting Off 2003.

No clipart on the CD? Is the program humongous or Microsoft is getting a
bit thrifty?

There are approximately 100 images on the disc. I have a ½-mbps connection
and it's /still/ glacially slow. I'm hoping to upgrade to a 1Mbps connection
this month - that's as fast as you can get via DSL in the UK; any faster and
you have to get cable, which isn't available where I live. Telewest (cable)
do a 2Mbps connection for approximately £40pcm, my uncle's just got it and
I'm not jealous, not in the slightest. eg

No it isn't. You can get 2Mbps through some third-party DSL providers, and
I think some might go even higher.

NTL don't do cable modems above 1Mbps (soon to be upgraded to 1.5Mbps)

Try www.f2s.com for a 2Mbps ADSL connection.
(It's a pity you need a BT line)

I can't vouch for any of the cable companies apart from NTL - but I'm pretty
sure it's nothing like the US, where you can get 4 an 5Mbps cable modem
connections.

Don, sorry to say, but it was because of "thrifty", not size :-(

Agree. A very silly and mean decision by MSPublisher. Call me a dinosaur, but I reckon that Publisher 97 with its really useful manual showing lots of clips is hard to beat for ease of use. Glad it's still on my old computer. Fortunately I still have my Office 2000 disks and other fabulous non MS Clipart - guess I'll be using those instead. Couldn't we have a CDROM with Publisher Clipart and just go online to freshen it up a bit? Those [the majority of mere mortals] who still have DialUp access are kinda stuck unless they live within range of broadband services. A lot of Australians can only access DialUp and it ain't cheap in this country! Grrrrr...!!
