Check boxes not working through Hyperlink

Working in Excel 2002 I find a problem with Check boxes
not working if the workbook sheet is opened with a
Hyperlink from another workbook. For Example, Workbook 1
Sheet 1 has a bookmarked hyperlink to open Workbook 2
Sheet 1. When the Hyperlink is used and Workbook 2 Sheet
1 opens, the check boxes on sheet one do not work
properly. You can check one check box, but when another
is checked on the same sheet the first check box
unchecks. Now take into consideration that Workbook 2
sheet 1 originally was a sheet in Workbook 1 and was
copied out to form the new Workbook 2 sheet 1. If anyone
can help me get my settings right or have had this
problem solved all ready please share the info with me.
