Help - where is mail saved? - need to retrieve from dead computer
I have a problem - my computer died, but the HD luckily is alive. I hooked
it up to a 2nd computer & retrieved most of my files. But I can't find where all my mail is saved to. I have figured out the address book file & found that. But where is the old mail saved to? Nothing in Doc & Setting looks familiar .... There is prob some weird name OE is using to save the files, anyone knows? BTW I am using OE 6.0. Thanks in advance |

Help - where is mail saved? - need to retrieve from dead computer
ToolsOptionsMaintenanceStore folder will reveal the location
of your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then StartRunCtrl+V will put the location in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer. In WindowsXP, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under StartControl PanelFolder OptionsView. If it's in OE, this is where it is. But you might want to look at this freebie tool: http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/backup/ -- Bruce Hagen ~IB-CA~ "JS" wrote in message news:JmGyc.700985$Pk3.241708@pd7tw1no...
