Automate Mail Merge with windows application

I am trying to write a windows application to automate Mail Merge in Word
2007 with content controls with the data in SQL Server

So far all the articles I have seen are for Web applications. Could anyone
please point out any usefull posts or articles which deal with Automation of
Word 2007 to Mail merge with content controls the data being in SQL Server
