Microsoft Works to Office 2000 to Office 2007 Upgrade
I just got a new PC with Microsoft Works (9?). I have an Office 2000 CD
w/product key and an Office 2007 Upgrade w/product key. I want to end up with Office 2007 on this new PC. Specifically, do I have to uninstall Microsoft Works, then install Office 2000, then upgrade to Office 2007. Any helpful hints on how to procede would be greatly appreciated. |

Insert Office 2007 cd it should locate Works as a qualifying app and install

You do not have to uninstall it, but as a practical matter I see no reason to keep it becaused everything it does is also done by the Office Suite. Works is not an accepted bed from which to install the Office Upgrade. You can install Office '07 until it says it can't find the version from which it can base the Upgrade on, then you put the Office '00 CD into the tray, then return to the Office '07 CD and complete the install. |
