Custom Properties Ordering them A-Z

I have created a global Custom Property shhet that applies to all shapes in my drawing. The only way I can get them to display in the order I want...
A. Blah blah blah
B. Blah blah blah
C. Blah blah blah

I save the sheet. Everything looks fine.
Now I open the custom Property set and I want to add a "D. New Blah Blah" but no matter what I do, or how I do it the"D. New Blah Blah" shows up between "A. Blah blah blah" and
"B. Blah blah blah" like this:
A. Blah blah blah
D. New Blah Blah
B. Blah blah blah
C. Blah blah blah
And it is impossible to figure out how to re-order this so it displays A,B,C,D. Anybody have any idea?

I'd probably start by looking at the sort key in the custom properties
section of the shape sheet.
