Cannot change font or font size in new mail

Hello,

I am unable to affect any formatting changes other than
font color when composing new mail. Even if I compose
text in Word, then copy and paste into a new mail window,
nothing changes. OE version 6.00.2800.1123

Font changes made via Tools =Options do not change the
font/size in the mail window.

Other than uninstalling then reinstalling Outlook
Express, is there any way to do a repair? I have even
attempted changing the fonts and sizes via editing the
source to no avail.

I am open to all suggestions. I would prefer a response
by e-mail since I have poor vision and reading the font
sizes on the web page is very difficult.
