Toolbar disappeared

I have 4 identities set up under OE. All 4 have always shown a toolbar.
(Create, Reply, Reply all, forward, print, delete etc)
Suddenly today, the toolbar on one disappeared, and I tried a number of
things to make it appear again, to no avail. (View layout checking and
unchecking all the options) When I check the toolbars option, and the
"customize toolbar" button is hilighted, and I click that option, there is
no response, unlike the other three identities, which allows me to then add
/ delete toolbar buttons. I'm stuck.
Any suggestions?
