Default oe error message 0x80004005

I'm working on my wife's oe problem. She recently
upgraded to larger memory oe. After that she had two
accounts listed under the "accounts" tab under tools. i
deleted one of them, and ever since she hasn't been able
to receive mail, I haven't been able to find the meaning
of this erroro message, listed above.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, David

Hi David,

There could be a problem with the Hotmail Name.dbx files in the message
store. Here's something you can try...

To possibly resolve this issue, quit Outlook Express, rename the Hotmail
Name.dbx folder, and then download the folder again:

1. Quit Outlook Express.

2. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.

3. Include hidden files and folders (Windows 2000 and Windows XP).

4. In the Named box, type Hotmail*.dbx, and then click Find Now.

5. For each file that is found, right-click the file, click Rename,
and then change the extension to xxx.

6. Close the Find Files window, and then start Outlook Express.

7. Click Send and Receive, and then click Hotmail account.

That's comforting. I'll give it a couple of hours and
maybe write back. Thanks, dpj

Hi I am having almost the same problem but for your

solution go to accounts and create an account for hotmail.
Accounts-Mail-Add-Type in your name-email pop 3 servers
etc and it should work.
