Transport OE6 .dbx files from Windows98 to WindowsXP
Following the instructions in Microsoft Knowledge base
article 313055 I used laplink to copy my OE6 .dbx files from a Windows 98 platform to a new desktop folder on my WindowsXP platform. When I try to import from the new desktop folder into OE6 the .dbx files do not show up in the window where I indicate all folders are to be imported. I have also copied all of the .dbx files into the identity folder for messages but they don't come up in my folder list either. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Les Hammond |

Did you include the old folders.dbx file from the old message store folder
or not? To perform an import, it needs the old folders.dbx file from the old message store. The one on your existing setup will not do the job. See this link for how to do backup/restore operations in Outlook Express: http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/backup/index.htm -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to newsgroup.
