Importing labels from Word2003
I have Publisher2003 and WindowsXP
My labels in Word2003 are made by using the table facility to create 8 labels (two columns, 4 rows) on one A4 portrait sheet. These labels have pictures and text boxes on them, and various fonts. When I try to import these Word2003 labels into Publisher the import either does not happen, or is incomplete (eg the text boxes don't import.) Please help, Frank |

If all the labels are different, you may have to copy/paste each table cell
individually. You may have to create a text box in Publisher, copy the text in Word, with the cursor in the text box, paste. When I "Import Word Document" from the file menu everything comes over. It might help to open the Office Clipboard (Edit Menu) in both the Word and Publisher program. You can collect 24 items. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Frank Martin" wrote in message ... Importing labels from Word2003
Thanks, I can do this with the cut & paste.
How does one get rid of the annoying blue line bordering the page? I want to get rid of this but I want also to have the lines showing the cells of the table. If I go to the View/Boundaries&Guides and deselect it the table borders go away. I just want to get rid of the blue line. I can horizontally centre the text in each cell of the table by using the centre/justify tool. But is there one for the vertical as well? I cant find it. Is there a tool for making all the cells of the table the same size? Typically we use an A4 sheet with 8 labels on it, so we want to use the 'make table' and then select the rows and columns and then press a button to fill the page with the cells equally. In the Arrange menu you can set the margin guides to zero. This will get rid of
the blue line. Select the table, right-click, format table, cell tab, the alignment choices are here. Publisher doesn't have a tool to make all the columns and rows equal. You can create exact ruler guides in the Arrange menu. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Frank Martin" wrote in message ... Thanks, I can do this with the cut & paste. Importing labels from Word2003
I have another problem.
My labels were all designed on Word2003 and worked very well on an OKI colour printer. Our new colour printer is a Samsung CLX-6210/FX that works OK but unfortunately gives a too-great a top margin on the page due to the feeding grip of this printer. We have tried to counteract this by the usual Word2003 software page set-up but nothing works. In Publisher2003 we can shift the page of labels up over the page on the screen and this partially solves the problem, but if we go too far over the top of the screen page some of the characters of the top labels are cut off. We need only about another 2mm above the page to solve the problem. Please help, Frank "Frank Martin" wrote in message ... Thanks. This worked OK. Regards Frank "Mary Sauer" wrote in message ... Can you change the margins in the page setup. When you select *change copies per
sheet* does it help to change the top margin 2mm? -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Frank Martin" wrote in message ... I have another problem.
