Default Product key input after Reset Computer to Factory Setting

I just had my computer reset to its factory setting because they thought it
would fix my computer. It turns out they installed a faulty motherboard and
just needed to replace it to fix the problem. So my computer was reset for no
reason.
Now Microsoft Office is asking for a Product Key which I haven't used
since I first got my computer, over two years ago. Is there anyway I can
solve this issue, or will I have to purchase a new Microsoft Office for $100?

Depends whether Office was also included in the reset to factory condition,
if it was then the key was supplied by your PC maker and you would have to
ask them, or look in the documentation that was origonally supplied
OEM software is not an MS issue, and not supported by MS

Personally I would think that THEY should provide the new Office license
since THEY misdiagnosed the error cause in the first place.

If it is a retail purchase, the key will be on a label on the disk
container. If it was an activation of trial software preinstalled by the
manufacturer you should still have the activation key on the email you
received and saved when you purchased the software activation key.
