Default Visio 2007 startup problem with Vista Ultimate

After installing Visio 2007 on my Vista Ultimate laptop, whenever I click the
desktop icon to start Visio, a "Configuring Office 2007" box opens. If I
click cancel, the Visio opens immediately. How can I keep the configuration
process from starting every time, even though the program was correctly
installed. Please note that Visio 2007 is the only Microsoft Office
application installed on this computer. Please advise.

I am having the same problem or similar at least. When ever I start Outlook I
get a message say that changes have been made to Visio 2007 and I must
restart computer for them to take effect. did you ever find a resolution?

No, I never did find a clean solution. What I do is to cancel the installer,
and the Visio program starts right up. I would like to know why the
installer insists on running whenever I try to start Visio, and hoe to make
it stop.

I re-ran the Visio 2007 installer and made sure that nothing was enabled to install on first use. That cleared up the problem for me. Outlook stopped prompting on startup.
