Default Changing cell location with a formula

How can change the cell locations within a formula. Here is my formula

=SQRT((B8-B7)^2+(C8-C7)^2)

I want to be able to substitute user inputs for the B7,B8,C7, and C8.

Please let me know how to change those locations to variables.

thanks in advance

If you mean the users would type in a the cell addresses in other cells you
should look at
INDIRECT or OFFSET

Fundamentally, that's what your formula already does: Just enter the inputs you want in cells B7, B8, C7 and C8 and your formula will recalculate.

That seems a bit obvious, though, so I suspect I am missing your point. Can you expand a little on what you are trying to do?
