Default Computer virus - lost product key for original Office XP Standard

We recently had a virus on our computer, and had to have our computer
repaired. During the repair, only the data files were kept since we had all
of our original software. Our computer was custom built, and we were given
all of the original software (in flimsy envelopes). To protect our CD, I took
it out of the envelope, and put it in a hard CD case. However, somehow, I
have misplaced the envelope that had the product key code on it! UGH!!! Now I
am left to reinstall Office XP 2002, but do not have my original product key
code. HELP! Is there anything I can do? Our machine was built in 2002, and I
have tried to contact the company who built our machine, but have not gotten
any response. I'm not even sure they're still in business. I will never again
have a custom built machine!!!

Don’t worry,
if you have retail original disc, sometimes you may get a free key
or pay 10$ to get new one.

Theres nothing wrong with custom built PC's, but if the end user loses
documentation....?
And if you had bought an OEM with software its likely they would'nt have
been able to supply you with a key either, if you had lost it
If its a retail copy of Office contact MS
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;326246
If however its an OEM copy, you are up the prevebial creek

hi

If your system still running you can use special software to recover your
Windows and Office key. Most of them support some versions of Windows and
some other Microsoft products. Also there is a products like "Recover Keys" (
http://recover-keys.com/ ) that support all Windows and Office versions and
300+ of other major software packages.
