Default What file type can publisher open and edit?

Hello Everyone,

I'm using MS Publisher 2007 and would like to know what other type of files
it can use and edit other than *.pub files? If it can only use *.pub files,
how can a person convert a *.PDF file to a *.Pub file? what other file types
can be converted to a *.Pub file?

Thanks to all who reply,

Ismael

To see all the types that Publisher opens, click on the File Type button on
the "Open" dialog box and scroll through the options.

A PDF can not be opened directly in Publisher, but depending on the version
of Acrobat that you have (or some other 3rd party tool), you could save the
PDF as a Word docs and open that in Publisher. The result may be pretty
close to the original or require so much work that it would be easier to
start from scratch, just depends on the original PDF.

You also can just save the PDF as an image and paste that into Publisher,
but you wouldn't be able to modify it.

I created the document in MS Publisher then saved it to a PDF file I then
sent the document to a person who had Adobe Indesign. He edited the PDF file
I sent him and sent it back to me. Now I have the PDF file and can view it
in Adobe reader but would like to make some more changes to the PDF file in
MS publisher. I tried to open the PDF file in MS Word 2007 but was
unsuccessful. How can I save the PDF file as a Word Document as you've
stated then import that into MS publisher?

You are up a creek. You can't do what you're hoping to do. Unfortunately you
are either going to have some sort of a .pdf editor or you will have to
change your Publisher file to match the .pdf plusyour changes.

None of Office's programs can edit a .pdf.

You would need a copy of one of the full versions of Acrobat (not the
reader), which would allow you to save the PDF as a Word doc. Again, going
from Pub -- PDF -- Word -- Pub may result in a badly formatted document.
However, you could try it. You also might see what format Indesign can
export to and see if the other person can save in something other than PDF.

BTW, there are other PDF to Word converters if you search around on the web.
