Formulas
I have two spreadsheets, one that I have a year's worth
of data on, and another that has 4 months worth of data. It is all financial reports and has formulas in them. When I start a new month I always copy a worksheet, with the formulas and change my numbers. They have always worked fine. Friday, I copied my worksheets and erased the old numbers, so I could start fresh today for Dec's report. My formulas are still where they are supposed to be, but when I add the new numbers the formulas don't respond. If I reenter the formulas it works, but then if I change the numbers the formula stops working. I opened my spreadsheet from last year and it is doing the same thing, but if I open a new document they work fine. I don't want to have to retype all of this data, can any one help me? |

Try this, after you have entered the new data, do an editreplace and
replace what = with = (replace the equal sign with the equal sign) That usually works for me when these things happen, it usually forces the formulas to calculate Before you do this make sure the formula cells are not text format -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "Tonya Morris" wrote in message ... Perhaps there was a problem with some cells that looked like they
were numbers but were text. One fixup was to select a cell with zero in it, copy it, and then edit, paste special, add causing =((I133-0)/17.5)*15 to become =(((I133-0)/17.5)*15)+0 it would be better to choose an empty cell instead and then edit, paste special, add -- --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "helpme" wrote in message ... Why would there be zero's placed in a formula? Such as =(((I133-0)/17.5)*15)+0 I am learing formula's and I can't seem to find out why the zero's have been placed in there. |

If someone else wrote the formula, you'd have to ask them why they put zeroes in there. -- My email address has an extra @ and an extra invalid. Please remove them to email me. |
