Default punctuation formatting

Yesterday I tried typing in Microsoft Word 2003, and every time I try typing
punctuation (commas, semicolons, periods, etc.) when I type the key the
cursor jumps to the beginning of the previous word and puts the punctuation
there, and begins the next word before the previous word. Help! I can't type
any kind of punctuation! How do I fix this?

Sounds like you have somehow switched to right-to-left mode. Do you
have Arabic/Hebrew enabled on your computer? If you do, then somewhere
in Word (I don't know where it might be in 2003) there's a way to
switch between them. (In Word2007 it's a pair of buttons on the Home
tab of the Ribbon just above the group of five Justification buttons).
