Default Remove future recurrences w/o removing past appointments

How does one remove future recurrences without removing past appointments or
removing changes to past appointments? If a meeting is set up with
recurrences, sometimes that weekly meeting might be canceled, so I delete
that meeting on the particular date. Sometimes this meeting might be held in
another location, so I open the recurring meeting on that particular date to
make appropriate changes. I would like to not delete all of these past
meetings and for the past meetings that were deleted, I'd like then to stay
deleted. But for future recurrences of the meeting, there are no more. How
do I do this?

It seems that if one would now put in an end date (say today), it would
"resurrect" all of the past meetings I deleted. If I end it by "delete the
series", then everything is gone including the past meetings I wanted to
keep. Can anything be done here?

Setting and end dat will accomplish the first of what you want,. but not the
second, because changing the recurrence will cause Outlook to regenerate the
series, as you observe.

Instead, export your calendar to a CSV. Since you have recurring
appointments and Outlook can't export a recurrence. it will ask you for the
date range the export should cover. Select the range covering the range of
the recurring appointment up until the end date. It will export the
recurrences as individual items, exceptions included. After exporting, edit
the CSV (either with Excel or Notepad) and remove all but the specific
recurring appointment. Delete the original appointment from the calendar
and import the CSV. It will add the appointments back in as individual
appointments, with the exceptions shows as you had modified them.
