Toggle Field Codes
I am running Word 2003 in XP. I have a document that has
quite a few images embedded in it. When I open the document, all I see are field codes for each image. All I see are a series of {EMBED PSP6.IMAGE}, one for each image. I don't want to see the field codes but I want to just see the images. In normal view I tried ALT-F9 and SHIFT-F9 but nothing changes. I even tried other views. At one point in time I somehow right-clicked on one of them and then clicked on "Toggle Field Codes" in the menu that came up. The picture appeared instead of the embedded link. I am embarrased to say that now, try as I might, I can't get the right-click menu to contain the "Toggle Field Codes" option. And I can't see the other pictures. What do I do to get the field codes toggled? Thanks for your help with this. Bob Ross |

Toggle Field Codes
Alt+F9 should toggle the display of field codes unless that has been
re-assigned to something else. You can turn off the display of field codes by selection Options from the Tools menu and then View and uncheck the Field codes box. -- Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the benefit of others who may be interested. Toggle Field Codes
Hi Bob,
Well, Tools/Options/View should let you do that, but it's sure "the long way around"... The only cause I've heard of that suppresses the keyboard shortcuts is having one of the Adobe Addins loaded. If you start Word in Safe Mode (hold down Ctrl, then start it up) does the behavior persist? I have a document that has quite a few images embedded in it.
