Default Home & Student Licence Restrictions

Plan to purchase Office. Concerned about 3 user licence for Office 2007
Home &
Student. Does this mean any 3 machines simultaneously licenced and if I
have to replace a disk drive on an already registered machine I can
reload without using up another licence? How about if I buy a new labtop
and retire an old one,
can I substitute the new machine for the previously licenced one?
How can I get a copy of the actual licence?
Thanks in advance,
Mike
PS I tried twice to get this question answered from customer support, they
didn't understand me, thinking I wanted an adjustment. They tried to send
me to support desk, which is only free for those who recently purchased
Office. See below.

H&S is not licensed for business use
It is licenced for installation on three working PC's - the licence is for
concurrent working PC's and not 'installs', you can install as often as you
like so long as you dont exceed the 3 working PC's

Not entirely true. There is an install limit and when that limit is
reached, when you enter the product
key and go to activate the product, it will bounce back at you saying you
need a new product key and
to either buy another one, or call the 800 number and speak to someone (last
one for me was automated)
who may ask you why you need to install again. The usual answer is due to a
crashed hard drive. You will
be given a series of numbers to type into your program to activate it.

Now I believe that with Office Home and Student, since you can install on up
to THREE computers (desktops
or notebooks) - once on each, you can install it on a new computer as long
as you are replacing one that you
already installed the program on, so as not to exceed 3 PCs. Don't be
surprised if that magic window pops
up when you go to activate and you have to jump through hoops to obtain a
new activation code. I've had to
do that several times when the software just didn't work, like my new Office
H&S 2007 that goes into an
infinite loop of configuration and installation before I can use the
programs. I've resorted to using Open Office
until Microsoft finds a fix for me. However, it's been two years now.

Do not think that you can reinstall Microsoft products time and time again
without having to explain yourself.
You do not own the software. You are only using it.
