Default Office removes all formatting information

When I go onto a new line office insists on making it 2 lines. I f I
hi-light the text and click no spaces because I don't want that ever.
It changes all my font font size font colour and any other thing about
my selected font it can. Why is this. Can I not have No spacing for
new lines as a default. Can I not decide on my font

What program within Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and what version of Office
(2000, XP, 2003, etc.) are you having issues with. With that information we
may be able to help.

Word 2007 (Office 2007)

Try this:

On a blank new document, Home tab on Ribbon, click the small down pointing
arrow on Paragraph. In window that opens on Indents and Spacing tab ensure
that Spacing is all at 0 point and Line spacing is set to Single. Ensure
Indentation is at 0" and Special = (none). If any of these are not set that
way set them that way and then click Default and answer Yes to the warning
window about setting the defaults in the Normal template. Close the program
and restart it then test the settings.

It will not change documents that have already been created.

Please post back if this fixes your issue with new documents or if it still
has issues.

No matter what I try from your above sample and instructions I can not
duplicate your issue. I have changed my default font style from Calibri to
Times New Roman, 12 point however just to ensure total compatibility with my
Office 2003 equipped computers which all have that type style and point
setup.

The various computers I tried it on were Vista Home Premium with Office 2007
SBE version, Vista Ultimate with Office SBE 2007 version, Vista Home Premium
with 2007 Home and Student, XP Pro with 2007 Home & Student. All computers
had the latest SPs for the OS and Office applied.

I do know that various versions of Word (2003 & 2007 both) have some issues
with maintaining font and styles especially in tables and I have had it lose
it's formatting style when hitting the enter key in a long document some
time but for this experiment I have not been able to duplicate any double
lines, etc.

Yes. But I still get this formatting problem. Can I decide what font I
want including color as well as defaulting to no extra space when I go
onto a new line. The only thing I can select is the border size and
orientation default.
