Problems copying msgs from SENT folder
I need to keep copies of messages that are in my Sent Folder but do not want
to store them in the actual default Sent Folder. If I create a new folder called "Sent Folder 2008" for example, then Copy or Move all of the messages from the system Sent folder to the newly created folder, all of the messages in the new folder state "FROM" and my name. What I am trying to accomplish is to just copy the sent messages to another folder so that there are not so many kept in the system folder, but yet keep the name of who it was actually sent to. Is there a way to do a true "copy" of the sent folder including who it was sent to, to another folder ? Thank you |

There are only two options for OE column headers.
Inbox - Deleted Items - and User Created folders share the same layout. If you change one, you change them all. Likewise for Outbox - Sent Items - and Drafts. Change one and you change the other two. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Audrey" wrote in message ... Could you just create a new folder "sent 2008" then on each click on move to:
? I haven't tried it in OE but it seems like it should work. "Bruce Hagen" wrote: There are only two options for OE column headers. Problems copying msgs from SENT folder
Thank you for your time Bruce.
With the User Generated Folder open, I right clicked on the "FROM" heading, then checked the box that said "TO". This added the heading to this mail box along with others headings that were already there. Yes, it also changed the other mail boxes to also have th From and To listed, but this will allow me to move messages from the system Sent mail box to another mail box and still be able to see "who" the message was originally sent to - which would be an important factor when looking for a specific email message that was previously sent. Never new I could alter the headings within Outlook Express. Guess I never had the need to until now. Thank you again for your time - much appreciated !
