Default can I make an outlook sublist for cell phone uploading?

I'm running Outlook 2007 in windows XP. I want to upload my contact list to
my new cellphone. The problem is I have many, many contacts that I do not
want on my cellphone. Is there a way to copy just the contacts I want to a
contact "sublist" that I can keep my cellphone updated with?

Depends upon what kind of phone you have and what software it uses to
sync. Generally speaking you could do it but the reverse of how you
might expect. You create a sub-folder and move all your contacts into
that. Then copy only the contacts you want on the phone back into the
primary Contacts folder.
