*** Line Jumps visible from different "invisible" layers ***
Hi,
No one seems to find the answer to the question I have posted here two days ago! How to fix line jumps that are displayed from different layers when those layers are made invisible? I want to stop one layer showing the line jumps that relate to an invisible layer's connectors, can this be done?? I am just experimenting with making the lines background at the moment - not sure if this will work. Madam Butterfly in a Fluster!! |

My guess is that Visio's layout and routing engine does not differentiate
between layers. Layers in Visio act more like categories than isolated containers. It may be possible to use background pages to accomplish your task. If you move the shapes on one layer to a different page, you could then designate that page a background and show it behind the original page. File Page Setup Page Properties lets you configure this. -- Mark Nelson Office Graphics - Visio Microsoft Corporation This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. *** Line Jumps visible from different "invisible" layers ***
SOLVED here is the solution ...
Pre-Condition: ---------------- Layer A - lines that will show no jumps AT ALL, not even to the lines in the layer itself, so all lines are FLAT and have the "never" selected. Layer B - lines that already show jumps over their own lines within the layer (which is OK), AND also show you the line jumps from Layer A (which is not OK), even though you have selected that/those layers (Layer A) to be 'invisible'. Solution: ---------- Do the following in Layer A. Format Behavior Connector Line Jumps - add - "to neither" Conclusion: ------------- Errors that showed up Layer B, remember those random line jumps when there were no lines there, because you have told Layer A to be invisible? Well now they are no longer visible, because you have selected the lines within Layer A "to neither". ================================================== == "Mark Nelson [MS]" wrote: My guess is that Visio's layout and routing engine does not differentiate between layers.
