Default Distorted Graphics

A colleague and I work on the same PP presentation that we have saved on a
network share. Once in a while, after I have worked on and then saved the
file, and she opens it, several of the graphics (.png) become so distorted
that they are unrecognizable (i.e. a visio diagram and screenshots that were
grabbed by SnagIt).

The other bizarre thing about this is that when I open older versions of
this file, the same graphics are now also distorted in those files. We
cannot figure out what is going on.

We are both using PP 2003. Any ideas/suggestions?

Hi Susan,

This is a bit unusual, as I'm sure you guessed. It could be that the file
is beginning to become corrupted -- a little bit of corruption may not kill
the file, but may make it behave a little odd. This is not uncommon in
files that are worked on by multiple users over a network or on removable
storage (USB drives and such).

I would try round-tripping the presentation thru HTML (see
http://www.pptworkbench.com/html/round_trip.htm). If this does not clear up
the problem, then I would be interesting in investigating it a bit more.
Post back if the problem is not corrected by this method. For that matter,
post back if this does fix it also, we'd like to hear back.

Cross your fingers,
