How to copy messages & folders

I need to copy a group of folders with several hundred messages to
another machine but maintaining the folders and subfolders and without
deleting messages on either machine. None of the methods I've found
seem to accomplish all of this. I don't want to add identities to the
second machine because I'm interested in accessing all the messages
easily. Any ideas how I could accomplish all this?
