Default insert text in arrow lines problem

I want to draw 2 rectangles with arrow in between, and add text on the arrow
lines. I was able to create 2 rectangles and arrow, but I couldn't add text
on the arrow lines. When I click arrow line, it will pop up a dialog window
"Format AutoShape," but the text box tab is disabled. Any ideas to the
workaround?? Thanks!!

You can't add text to an arrow made with the Arrow tool on the Drawing
toolbar. But you can put a text box over the arrow you made, and insert
text into that. The Text Box tool is also on the Drawing toolbar.

Another option would be to use the Block Arrow tool (under Autoshapes in
the Drawing toolbar) to make your arrow. You *can* add text to a block
arrow.

Default insert text in arrow lines problem

If I put a text box, then we will see the box. I just want to have text on
top of the arrow lines.

I tried to use the block arrow tool, when I click the arrow line, it still
popus up a dialog window "Format AutoShape," but the text box tab is still
disabled.

Any ideas?? Thanks!!

Format the text box to have no borders and/or no fill. How?
Right-click once an edge of the text box | Format Text Box | Colors and
Lines | Line Color: No line | Fill Color: No fill.
